I am absolutely fascinated by the folklore of plants, the stories that plants have to tell, and the way that we have interacted with different plants throughout the ages.
I was therefore particularly excited to stumble up the text of a book, entitled the Folklore of Plants by none other than Rev. Thomas Firminger Thiselton-Dyer. The name Thiselton-Dyer is well known to plant hunters as his father Sir William Turner Thiselton-Dyer KCMG FRS FLS. was a leading British botanist, and the third director of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
His story is told here
However the full text of his book, The Folklore of Plants, which was published in 1889 is here
